Yasmina Ramzy Arts (formerly Arabesque Canada), Toronto, ON 1992 – Present

- Directed and produced ten large-scale six-day productions at Fleck Dance Theatre, Harbourfront Centre, Toronto, Canada with as many as 45 dancers and musicians in a production.

- Directed three films screened at international film festivals and received award nominations 2020-2022.

- Ensure support for company’s innovative artistic vision via grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council, Toronto Arts Council and The Laidlaw Foundation.

- Company tours to Beirut, Amman, Damascus, Athens, Los Angeles, New York City, Smith College, Montreal, Vancouver, Ottawa, Calgary, Winnipeg, Victoria, Windsor, Whitehorse and more.

- Company highlights include collaboration with Cirque du Soleil creating choreography for the Pan American Games at Rogers Stadium, performing at Sony Centre for the Arts (Toronto) and Madison Square Garden (New York City).

- Commissioned to create ensemble choreography for and perform with legendary artists including The Rolling Stones, Ben Harper, Alabina, Bijan Mortazavi, Amr Diab and Rageb Alema.

Created three-day teambuilding workshops for dancers, teachers, choreographers and directors; delivered events across North America to facilitate exploration of personal growth and creativity.

Lead 12 intensive educational two-week dance and music tours to Egypt.

Created and led 18 two-week professional dance courses with 194 graduates from 20 counties

Performed over 10,000 times, often for royalty and heads of state, in England, Austria, Hungary, Spain, Germany, Greece, Scotland, Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, Croatia, China, Mexico, USA, Canada and extensively with the Muwashahaat musicians of Syria in Aleppo and Damascus

Commissioned to create over 200 choreographies for dance companies across Canada and USA including Miles Copeland’s Bellydance Super Stars

Bellydance Blossom Festival, Toronto, ON 2016-2018

- Created, produced and directed three festivals featuring panel discussions and lectures on the artistic process and socio-political issues in Middle Eastern dance. Facilitated artists working across international borders and dance genres to create ground-breaking work with 600 artists.

International Bellydance Conference of Canada, Toronto, ON 2008-2012

- Created, produced and directed four conferences each comprised of 150 international performing artists, 15 international master instructors and 400 international participants incorporating lectures, panel discussions, films, theatre performances and dance workshops.

CARAVAN Festival, Toronto, ON 1992 - 2005

- Created, produced and directed four multi-cultural festivals featuring live music, dance, food, crafts from countries around the world featuring music jams between different culture specific bands with dance parties attracting over 800 attendees.

Dancenet, Toronto, ON 1994 – 2000

Created, produced and curated a monthly two-hour dance performance presenting ten different styles of dance and movement with a wide variety of solo artists and ensembles. Attendance averaged 175 people per month over a six-year period. Dancenet was known as a launch pad for many Canadian dance artists’ careers.
